Hill News November 2025 - Update from our MD, Dr Jonno Hill
One truism in business is that everything starts with people, and so the ability to attract, retain and develop talent is critically important. We’re therefore very pleased to share the news below of two high-calibre senior appointments – one to our executive team and one to our Board – who we know will be valuable additions to our team.
Mike Wink will be starting with us as our new GM – Operations in February and brings with him considerable expertise in leading laboratory operations at scale with a particular strength in dairy testing. There is more on Mike’s appointment below.
Also described below, Mark Leslie, currently the CEO of Pamu, will be joining us as the newest Director on our Board. Mark’s skillset and passion for the primary industries is a great fit for us, and we’re looking forward to his contributions at the governance level.
It’s a privilege, and a little humbling, to have such high-calibre people joining us and filling such critical roles. Personally, one of the things I enjoy most about my job is working with talented people on novel and complex opportunities. I know I’m going to enjoy having Mike and Mark on the team and am looking forward to learning a lot from them both.
But, of course, it’s the quiet stars in our labs, working at the ‘coalface’, who ultimately allow us to deliver on our customer promises, day after day, year after. So much of what the ELT and Board do is set the scene so that our staff and teams can deliver to their full potential, as it is all their hard work that creates most of the customer value that we deliver. I feel very fortunate to have so many capable and engaged people working in our business, and I can’t wait for Mike, especially, to get to know all those people and to help carry our business forward into what should be a bright future.
