Our Toitū Commitment

At Hill Labs, sustainability is more than a goal we have - it’s a responsibility we take seriously. We understand that our operations have an environmental impact, and we’re committed to reducing that impact through thoughtful, consistent action.

Last year, our efforts were recognised with the achievement of the Toitū Carbon Reduce Certification, a milestone that marked a significant step in our environmental journey. We’re proud to share that we’ve successfully retained this certification for a second year - an achievement that reflects our dedication to continuous improvement.

Earning and maintaining this certification requires rigorous data collection across all areas of our operations - from electricity and gas usage to waste management and travel emissions. We have been thoroughly audited to ensure our carbon footprint has been accurately measured and that we are making real progress in reducing it.

We’ve taken proactive steps to embed sustainability into our everyday practices. This includes our ongoing partnership with Future Post - contributing to their soft plastic recycling programme, and supporting grassroots, staff-led initiatives like reducing paper usage across our offices.

As a science-based organisation, we value Toitū’s evidence-based tools that help businesses like ours measure and manage emissions effectively. We’ve embraced this approach, focusing on gradual, meaningful changes that reduce our environmental impact over time.

At Hill Labs, we recognise that sustainability is a journey - not a destination. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made, and we’re excited about the road ahead. With every step, we aim to build a more sustainable future through continuous learning, tangible action, and a deep respect for the environment.
