New Service: Mould Testing

Mould testing is now available at Hill Labs. Mould testing helps to identify the presence, type, and concentration of mould in an indoor environment, which can have serious implications for health, building integrity, and legal compliance. This new service not only enhances our testing capabilities but also adds convenience for our clients. Clients are now able to submit asbestos, meth and mould samples through one trusted laboratory, streamlining their workflow and saving valuable time. This all-in-one solution is in response to client feedback, highlighting the demand for a more efficient and unified approach to environmental testing.

Jared Halstead, Asbestos and Water Compliance Business Manager, says:
"We’re proud to now offer a seamless service for our built environment customers. For years, our asbestos clients have trusted us to deliver quality and reliability and now we’re extending that same commitment to mould services. It’s a natural evolution that strengthens our ability to deliver great service for our customers by giving them one laboratory to work with."

Our mould testing service adheres to international standards and is capable of detecting a wide range of fungal species, including Alternaria, Aspergillus, Cladosporium, and Penicillium which are some of the most common indoor moulds that can impact air quality and building integrity.

We offer two robust testing methods:

  • Direct Examination (Tape Lift Method): A straightforward technique for identifying mould on surfaces, performed in accordance with ASTM D7658 - 17.
  • Spore Trap Sampling: Ideal for assessing airborne spores in indoor and outdoor environments, following ASTM D7391 - 20 standards.
